In January 2023, a delegation of international rail industry professionals were treated to a preview of some of the new technology Northern is pioneering as part of its Intelligent Trains programme.
In this video interview, Marc Silverwood, Digital Trains System Manager at Northern, talks about the technology that was showcased during the event, including the exciting LiDAR technology which has been used by NASA to map the surface of the moon, and details how these new technologies relate to the Intelligent Trains programme and what they could mean for the future of rail.
