Alstom has delivered the first of five ETR470 Pendolino trains to TRAINOSE, marking the arrival of high-speed trains in Greece.
Nikos Kondylas, Stefanos Avdis and Kostas Kapetanidis from the Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE) write about the state of level crossings across the Greek railway network, and the measures being implemented to improve their safety.
Set to increase freight transport by rail, the centre will promote Greece as a major freight hub in the trans-European transport network.
