Alstom’s project to equip 59 Flirt-type MÁV-START electric trains with ETCS Level 2 is expected to be complete in September 2023.
MÁV-START has completed the public procurement procedure for 90 dual voltage and 25 triple voltage electric locomotives.
Stadler's Citylink tram-train has the capability to operate in both electric mode on the tram networks and diesel mode on the mainline.
MÁV-START Zrt. - the Hungarian passenger service operator - has exercised its contract right and ordered four additional bi-mode CITYLINK tram-trains from Stadler.
The new 600-seater trains will reduce congestion and delays for the thousands of commuters to Hungary's capital, Budapest.
The €313 million contract is MÁV-START's third order for double-deck KISS units from Stadler, following two contracts in 2017 and 2018.
