Great British Railways (GBR)

Great British Railways (GBR) is a planned state-owned public body that, from 2023, will oversee rail transport in Great Britain. The organisation will replace Network Rail as the operator of rail infrastructure, and will also control the contracting of train operations, the setting of timetables and fares, and the collection of fare revenue in the majority of England.

The UK government has announced the formation of a new public body, Great British Railways, which will bring the UK's railways under single, accountable national leadership.
