DB has committed to becoming climate-neutral 10 years earlier through green electricity, lower carbon emissions through younger fleets and the use of alternative fuels.
Destined for the badly affected Lombardy region, DB Schenker is working to transport over 1,000 tonnes of medical supplies from China to Italy in just 15 days, door-to-door.
DB has reported their key figures from the 2019 fiscal year, noting an increase in passenger numbers, record investment in infrastructure, but a decrease in profits.
In a speech by Dr. Richard Lutz, CEO Deutsche Bahn (DB) discussed how passenger services at DB have made progress, as is evident in the new passenger record in long distance transport.
Deutsche Bahn has presented a new 10-point strategy which aims to double patronage and make a major contribution to meeting climate protection targets in Germany.
The UK currently has a national rail infrastructure pipeline worth £88 billion, which is the greatest investment in the sector in over a century. As a result of these unprecedented levels of investment, significant opportunities exist for investors to support and add value to the rail supply-chain.
