CFL cargo and Bertani Trasporti’s new connection between Gliwice Port in Poland and Marckolsheim in France will help transfer 2,300 trucks from road to rail.
CFL's new maintenance and repair workshop will reduce rolling stock downtime and improve the availability of the wagon and locomotive fleet.
The new line will connect Poland to Luxembourg and the Benelux area, as well as France and Spain, by providing access to existing intermodal routes.
The new rail freight line connection was launched on 21 January 2020 and will help to shift 10,000 trucks from road to rail per year.
The rail motorway has been announced between Poznan-Swarzędz and Luxembourg which will be more than 1,000 km long with a capacity of 37 intermodal units.
With the aim of running the train on a weekly basis by mid-2019, the train is operated by CDIRS, in collaboration with RTSB and CFL multimodal.
