Atkins’ Lizi Stewart appointed as member of RIA Board

Managing Director of Atkins’ transportation division, Lizi Stewart, has been appointed as one of 13 Railway Industry Association Board members.
Lizi Stewart, Managing Director of Atkins‘ transportation division in the UK and Europe, has been appointed as one of 13 members of the Railway Industry Association (RIA) Board, and will play a key role in governing strategic affairs.
Stewart brings experience from multiple senior roles in the transportation industry, including her current role at Atkins, which involves driving future growth in the company’s rail, highways, and local transport markets.
Regarding joining the board, Stewart said: “Collaboration and knowledge sharing are key to our success in the rail industry. The RIA is crucial in facilitating this as our industry faces unprecedented change. By becoming a RIA Board member, I hope to play my part in ensuring new innovations and ways of working are shared across the sector.”
She joins the Board at a significant time for RIA, as their organisation grows to over 290 members, with a focus on delivering the best possible service to members. Chairman of the RIA, David Tonkin, said: “Lizi is a welcome addition to the RIA Board, bringing with her an extensive knowledge of the rail signalling and transport industries. Lizi’s expertise on the Board will help ensure RIA is well placed to continue growing, represent the industry effectively and continues to offer extensive services for our members, with the ultimate aim of creating a bigger and better rail supply community, for the benefit of UK plc.”
