Russia and Kyrgyzstan to together develop the Kyrgyz railway network

Among the projects under consideration within the memorandum, the document indicates the construction of a China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan rail line.
A Memorandum of Cooperation regarding the development of the railway network in the Kyrgyz Republic has been concluded in Bishkek, meaning Russia and Kyrgyzstan will work together.
The document was signed by Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Yevgeny Dietrich; Director General and Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, Oleg Belozyorov; Minister of Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zhanat Beishenov; and Director General of the state-owned national company Kyrgyz Temir Zholu, Kanatbek Abdykerimov.
The memorandum notes the positive dynamics and effectiveness of joint actions to develop a preliminary feasibility study (PFS) of projects for the phased development of the railway network in the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, the completion of the first stage of development of the document confirmed in February 2019.
Among the projects under consideration, the document indicates the construction of a China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway and a railway junction for the northern and southern regions of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the results of the PFS, the parties intend to make proposals for their participation in implementing developmental projects for the railway network in Kyrgyzstan.
