SNCF welcomes decision for the 2024 Olympic games to be held in Paris

SNCF has announced it is proud of Paris’ successful bid to host the 2024 Olympics, and looks forward to the unique celebration of sport that the Olympics represents.

SNCF, a global leader in passenger and freight transport services, is one of the official partners of of the Olympic and Paralympic games in Paris in 2024 and announced the successful bid for the games in nearly 3,000 train stations across France.
At the same time, conductors and train managers aboard TGV, Intercités and TER regional trains relayed the news of the successful bid to passengers throughout the country.
“SNCF Group has built up an enviable track record as the official transport operator for major international sporting events including the Rugby World Cup in 2007 and UEFA’s European Football Championship in 2016,” said Mathias Vicherat, SNCF Group Deputy Managing Director. “We’ll be harnessing and developing experience to help ensure that the Paris Olympic is another huge success.”
SNCF sent a message to its customers in light the of successful bid, stating that it is “pleased to announce that the International Olympic Committee has just awarded the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games to the City of Paris. SNCF is proud to have supported this bid”.
France’s world-class public transportation system and SNCF’s expertise as a mobility player were among the decisive factors in the IOC’s decision.
