Dr. Rüdiger Grube has stepped down from his role as CEO following approval from the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bahn AG.

Dr. Rüdiger Grube has stepped down from his role as CEO following approval from the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bahn AG.
The Supervisory Board of Germany’s state-owned railway operator Deutsche Bahn AG has unanimously approved Dr. Rüdiger Grube’s request to terminate his role as CEO from immediate effect
CFO Dr. Richard Lutz to serve as interim CEO of Deutsche Bahn
In a statement, the Supervisory Board thanked Dr. Grube for his outstanding commitment to Deutsche Bahn over the past eight years as its CEO. It also confirmed it would be making a prompt decision on Rüdiger Grube’s successor. In the intervening time, CFO Dr. Richard Lutz will serve as interim CEO.
Commenting on Dr. Grube’s departure, Prof. Utz-Hellmuth Felcht, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, said: “Dr. Rüdiger Grube has made a lasting contribution to DB, in particular through his work to make the company fit for the future. He has left his mark on Deutsche Bahn as a driver of both digitalisation and the Zukunft Bahn quality programme.”
