Nomad Digital, provider of passenger and fleet connectivity solutions to the rail industry, has gained renewal of its International Rail Industry Standard (IRIS) accreditation.
IRIS is a framework for railway suppliers to meet globally recognised levels of quality and Nomad’s accreditation was due for renewal this year, following initial accreditation back in 2013. The renewal covers the company’s specific operations in Hildesheim, Germany, which is now fully certified until 2019, following a recent external audit.
John Mills, Nomad Digital’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Manager, said “The successful renewal of our IRIS certification is positive news. IRIS supports what our key customers require from their suppliers as a baseline. But importantly, internally, it also drives the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes as they and our business develop. The IRIS standard itself is developing soon to become an ISO standard and we will plan accordingly to convert to this.”
Nomad Digital plans to become ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 certified in 2017
Nomad Digital is also certified to ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 and plans to become ISO 14001 certified for environmental management in early 2017 and is aiming to achieve ISO 27001 certification for security management in 2017.
Jean-Philippe Tissot, Nomad’s EMEAI General Manager, said “Our commitment to enhancing our integrated Business Management System covering all operational functions is key to driving our performance and ensures everything we do is delivered in a controlled and effective manner for our customers. The external certification we achieve as a result of this, further bolsters our business profile and our continued high regard with major train operators.”
