Thales signs important service contract with the SNCF for the Transilien network

Thales has won the contract with the SNCF for the maintenance of ticket validation equipment covering the whole train network in Paris and the surrounding departments. The contract will last for 4 years.

The complete network covers around 400 stations and includes 4,300 equipment and associated systems, with 17,000 forecast interventions needed every year.

Other than the standard maintenance of the network, the Thales offering includes a system allowing the permanent tracking of interventions via a web portal. This comprises of a “2.0” web technology with mobile phone usage.

“We are extremely pleased to have been chosen for this maintenance contract for the whole SNCF network, and not only the equipment that were supplied by Thales.The solution that we proposed allows the SNCF to track, foresee and remotely view all interventions. Thus, it will also give a more efficient service for passengers,” explains Laurent Eskenazi, Thales Managing Director of Thales Revenue Collection Systems.
