PCC Intermodal orders electric locomotives from Pesa Bydgoszcz

PCC Intermodal SA has contracted Pesa Bydgoszcz to supply three electric locomotives which will be placed into operations for routes between the Polish ports of Gdańsk and Gdynia.

Dariusz Stefański, CEO of PCC Intermodal SA, said: “We are very pleased that the tender for the delivery of locomotives met with the great interest from contractors and that finally the Polish producer submitted the most advantageous offer. We believe that the experience and quality of Pesa products will help us in further development of intermodal transport system in Poland and we can move more and more loads from roads to rail in the most efficient way.”

Adam Adamek, Vice-President of PCC Intermodal SA, said: “You can not develop intermodal transport if not working with highly available and reliable vechicles. You can not promote ecological solutions, create the value added with the bases settled on the quality if your partners/service providers do not aim the same way. Together with Pesa we approach the next levels of our products development.”

Maciej Maciejewski, Vice President, Sales Director of Pesa, said: “Pesa is consistently developing the GAMA platform. In addition to the 111Ed, 111E and 111Db locomotives already in operation in Poland, we will soon offer our customers a dual-drive 111DE locomotive, which will be adapted to operation both under the traction network and on non-electrified lines. In autumn, we will also start tests of the first Polish shunting locomotive with a hydrogen drive.”
