Poland is continually investing in its rail network and with almost 20,000 route-km, it is the third largest in Europe. Major modernisation programmes form a key aspect to ensure the rail network acts as a transit crossroads for both north-south and east-west traffic. To reflect this important and growing industry, Mack Brooks has released ‘The Rail Market in Poland 2012’ – a report that provides a concise overview of Poland’s main line and regional rail transport market.
With details of planned developments on the Polish railway network, and a list of all active train operators (in late-2011), the report also summarises the political and regulatory environment in which the network functions, details of open freight carriers, and a status of all current tram systems in Poland.
