FRA are using funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to launch a new programme which will advance efforts to improve the safety, performance and sustainability of rail.

The infrastructure of a railway network is an incredibly complex system. Our infrastructure content focuses on a variety of topics including the construction of new rail lines, the maintenance and modernisation of existing lines, projects and developments to ensure infrastructure is safe and efficient, and in-depth looks at the vital components that make up infrastructure including track systems, i.e. switches, crossings, sleepers, ballast, etc.
