Welcome to our Winter Issue of 2023!
This year has been full of changes, challenges and new chances leading into 2024.
From the U-turn announcement from the prime minister back at the start of October, to the mention of new rail policies and reforms in the King’s speech this month, our industry has certainly had a lot to think about. At the RIA annual conference in London, the Minister for Rail and HS2 gave a speech that leaned towards looking to the new opportunities these changes might bring rather than mourning the loss of a single project.
This issue we look at how rail battles the harshest winter weather; how rail could be the key to strengthening the 5G ecosystem; how Spanish High Speed rail could be leading the way; and much more!
