A passenger train has reportedly crashed into the back of a freight train near Liege in Belgium killing at least three people.
On the 05 June at approximately 23:00 CET, a passenger train collided with a freight train at high speed in the Belgium municipality of Saint-Georges-Sur-Meuse, killing three people and injuring numerous others.
According to Belgian railways (SNCB), a passenger train carrying approximately 40 people crashed into the back of a freight train on the same track. The impact caused two of the six cars to derail.

The train was travelling from Liege and Namur and according to RTL broadcasting was travelling at approximately 90km/h (55mph) when it hit the goods train.
The cause…
Infrabel will now be carting out a full investigation into the incident as well as – according to BBC News – examining the effect of an earlier lightning strike on the line that was later cleared returning services to normal.
