Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation and the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering (MIIT) announced that they have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of railway technologies for the next three years.
Following the business development of services in Russia, Bombardier started to work with MIIT, the major university in the railway industry. Many employees in Russia’s railway sector are MIIT graduates.
Professor Boris A. Levin, Rector of MIIT, and Michael Fohrer, Vice President Services, Central Europe, Russia and Asia, Bombardier Transportation, signed the agreement on behalf of the two organizations. It supports future exchange in areas including science, innovation and development of railway transportation systems.
During a previous meeting with Russian partners and university representatives, an agreement was reached to coordinate joint research, organize seminars, workshops and participate in international conferences. It was also agreed to collaborate in the training of specialists and academic staff.
These agreements provide Bombardier with a good base to further develop its services for the Russian market. Partnerships with academic institutions such as MIIT form an integral part of Bombardier’s dialogue with stakeholders. The joint research addresses technological challenges in the rail industry and contributes to the company’s growth strategies in Russia.
