Nevomo begins international expansion with new partnerships

The Polish startup Nevomo, formerly known as Hyper Poland, develops magrail technology based on magnetic levitation, which enables travel at speeds of up to 550kph (342mph) using the existing railway infrastructure and allows for a phased implementation of the hyperloop vacuum railway.

Nevomo cooperates with a group of world-renowned experts in rail, logistics, hi-tech and magnetic railways. The expansion of its activities on a European scale will contribute to establishing relations with new partners, as well as strategic cooperation, and thus lead to the rapid growth of the company.

As a result, the company has announced its cooperation with EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf. This is the second innovation campus of this type in Germany, following the establishment of the first prestigious centre in Berlin. The campus will bring together companies, scientists and startups operating in the areas of modern technologies for energy, mobility and sustainable development. It will provide a workplace for 3,500 employees, whose main goal will be to develop innovative solutions for the transport of the future.

Another milestone for Nevomo is establishing cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer, which, in cooperation with the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, is creating a network dedicated to hyperloop technology and future implementations in transportation systems on a European scale.

“In a collaborative effort, both universities are active in the project EU HyTeC (European Hyperloop Technology Center), funded by the state of Lower Saxony, which evaluates the evolution of the existing 32km Transrapid test track in Emsland, Germany, towards a European Hyperloop Research Facility. The Hyperloop Technology Center is a leading academic institution specialising in hyperloop technology in Europe,” commented Prof. Dr. Ing. Thomas Schüning from the Board of Directors at the Institute of Hyperloop Technology. “We are happy to count Nevomo as a partner for the large scale research infrastructure on hyperloop technology in Emsland.”

We want to contribute to the implementation of sustainable mobility by transforming the antiquated fossil fuel-dependent transportation system into an efficient and emission-free one. This is a difficult task that we will not be able to complete alone. Close cooperation with partners in the field of mechanical engineering, electronics and information technology is crucial. Both EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf and the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer provide us with access to such entities and give us wide opportunities, thanks to which our further development and joint work on the implementation of the transport of the future will be possible,” said Przemek Paczek, CEO of Nevomo.

An important stage of Nevomo’s international expansion is also the opening of an office in Switzerland. It will serve potential clients in key markets – such as Switzerland, France and Italy – as well as increase the number of international corporate partnerships and R&D projects, recruit international engineering talents and facilitate access to Western European sources of financing. Its opening is scheduled for the turn of the third and fourth quarter of 2021.

Another target of the company is Austria. In order to increase business competencies and learn about the specifics of this market, Nevomo is taking part in the Vienna Startup Package. This programme is dedicated to 20 ambitious startups from around the world that plan to expand into the markets of German-speaking countries. The four-week workshop allows startups to learn about the dynamics of the Austrian market, identify new business opportunities and establish contacts with local contractors.
